DRAFT — requires review by a Trinidad and Tobago attorney before launch.
This policy explains, in plain English, how Strategic Business Management Agency Limited (“SBMA”, “we”, “us”) collects and uses personal information through sbmaglobal.com.
1. Who we are
Strategic Business Management Agency Limited is a strategic advisory and management consulting firm incorporated in Trinidad and Tobago, based in Port of Spain. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
You can contact us about anything in this policy at info@sbmaglobal.com or on +1 (868) 734-6775.
2. What we collect
When you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number, country, organisation (if you give it), the service you are interested in and your message.
When you join the SBMA Global CV Pool, we collect:
- your name, email address, phone number, country and city of residence and LinkedIn profile (if you give it);
- your professional title, experience, areas of expertise, qualifications, certifications, languages, availability and engagement preferences;
- your CV file and any notes you add;
- your typed name and an image of the signature you draw, together with the consent version you signed;
- submission details recorded automatically: the date and time of submission, your IP address, your browser’s user-agent string and the page you submitted from.
When you browse the site, our hosting provider processes standard technical information (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and secure the site. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
3. Why we use it
- To respond to enquiries you send through the contact form, by email or by phone.
- To build proposals and teams: to consider CV Pool members for client assignments, proposals, tenders and engagements, and to contact them about availability.
- To keep a record of consent: to evidence the Curriculum Vitae Authorisation and Consultant Consent you sign.
- To protect the site against spam and misuse.
4. Our legal bases
We rely on:
- your consent — for the CV Pool, including sharing your CV with clients and prospective clients; you can withdraw it at any time;
- our legitimate interests — in responding to enquiries, running our business and keeping the site secure, balanced against your rights;
- legal obligations — where we must keep certain records.
5. Who we share it with
- Clients and prospective clients — CV Pool information only, and only in connection with proposals and engagements as described in your consent.
- Service providers who help us run the site and our email: Netlify (website hosting and form storage) and our email delivery provider. They act on our instructions and may not use your information for their own purposes.
- Authorities — where the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal information.
6. International transfers
Our website host and email provider are based in the United States, so your information will be stored and processed there. We use providers that apply recognised safeguards for international transfers.
7. How long we keep it
- Contact enquiries: 24 months from our last exchange with you.
- CV Pool records: until you withdraw, or 36 months without reconfirmation of your details, whichever comes first. Information that already forms part of a submitted proposal may be kept as part of that proposal’s record.
8. Your rights
Wherever you live — including Trinidad and Tobago, the United Kingdom and European Union, Canada, the United States and elsewhere — you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you (access);
- correct information that is wrong or out of date (correction);
- delete your information (deletion);
- stop using your information on the basis of consent (withdrawal of consent);
- stop using your information on the basis of legitimate interests (objection).
Email info@sbmaglobal.com and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first. Some rights depend on the law that applies to you.
9. Security
We use reputable providers with encryption in transit, access controls and restricted access to submissions. CV files are held in our private form storage and are never published on the website. No system is completely secure, so please contact us immediately if you believe your information has been compromised.
10. Cookies
This site does not set tracking or advertising cookies. If we introduce analytics that require cookies, we will ask for your consent first. Embedded YouTube videos load from youtube-nocookie.com only when you choose to play them.
11. How to complain
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first at info@sbmaglobal.com. You may also complain to the data protection authority where you live (for example, the Information Commissioner’s Office in the United Kingdom or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada).
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date below shows when it was last changed.
